Some of the old skool Newgrounders might remember a lil toon called Star Wars: Lo Mein from a few years back. Very primitively animated.. it was a parody within a parody.. Darth Vader and his Emperor trying to get a table at a Chinese restaurant ala Seinfeld. Daily Feature... Flash Portal History.. it was classic NG and got everyone off my ass after the ass chewing I received for the whole dress up doll thing.

The toon was followed by a not so impressive sequel which somehow managed Daily Second. The final chapter in the trilogy was written on napkins and ready to go... but..

I went to school. Joined the work force. I'd nearly given up making time for drawing, Flash and yes, Newgrounds. Years go by.

Well.. I couldn't stand not finishing the story. I started drawing characters. Backgrounds. Recording voices. NG has evolved a lot over the years so my art had to as well. A few hours here.. a few hours there.. and now I'm in the home stretch... Star Wars: Megaplex 30 is coming very soon!

The Megaplex 30 is a movie theater located on Coruscant. Part of the story demands that the lobby look extremely busy. That's where the contest comes in.

I'm looking for artists who'd like to draw random sci-fi characters to Fill The Lobby.

Alf. Stitch. Alien. Predator. Ming. Wall-E. Mork. Alien Hominid. Whatever. Be obscure. Email them to me and I'll use as many as I can in the movie. My favorite (and when I say my favorite, that means there's no criteria for the judging... just whichever jumps out at me) will get a $50 gift certificate to the company I work for... I really wish I had more than one to give away. Alas.. someone had to be chosen... and it's Physco-Pickle, Code E Smith!

Code E's work reminds me of why I first got into Flash... why I first came to NewGrounds. When vintage toons like Blundercats or my own Lo Mein and Britney Dress Up were the top rated entries of the Portal. I respect Waterlollies.. but it bores the piss out of me.

I will add that I work for a company that deals with Wacom on a regular basis. I'm going to see if I can con them into throwing me some free shit. Stay tooned (pun intended)!

I saw the big man gave away a few Wacoms for up and coming animators who need one. I have an older one I don't use anymore... it's a gray USB 4 x 5 Graphire... model et-0405-u. It's what I drew AOTPDD on.. so that shows how long ago I got it. I currently use my tablet PC for drawing (until I drop the money on the much coveted Cintiq!) ... so this is just gathering dust.

After 6 years of sitting around, Ill be returning to NG shortly with the conclusion to the Buttmaster Trilogy begun with Lo Mein. It's so much more ambitious than the previous entries... no one will believe it's from the former "Britney guy.."
